Overview

This position is responsible for the product management of a student-facing product portfolio at the university through extensive collaboration with stakeholders and internal/external technology teams.

Responsibilities

  1. In partnership with other functional areas, departments, and Colleges/Schools, identify key programs underway across the organization to establish a baseline and build a future-state vision.

  2. Work with key stakeholders, sponsors, and business leaders to ensure positive student experience outcomes – formulate plans/activities to support project implementation; communicate with subject matter experts to fully understand scope and requirements to support end users; develop and implement appropriate policies and programs; identify training and communication needs and risks.

  3. Work with project managers and/or stakeholders across the organization to ensure an integrated deployment.

  4. Work with other team members to develop new organizational processes, document these processes, and support implementation.

  5. Identify key themes across projects that may warrant enterprise-wide resolution.

  6. Hire, train, conduct performance evaluations, and supervise the workflow for designated staff. This includes initiating promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions.

  7. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Organization Behavior, or related field required.

  • Five or more years of experience in product management or customer facing technologies.

  • Five or more years of experience managing product managers or product/business analysts.

Additional Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Experience with user design and research strongly preferred.

  • Experience as a product manager or owner in customer-facing technologies is preferred.

  • Ability to employ program management software to track and status projects.

  • Experience with integration and management of multiple project plans.

  • Possess strong analytical skills and ability to develop and prepare management reports.

  • Demonstrated ability to assess a project to determine when it is off course and assist in course correction.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across boundaries to collect data/information and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Ability to drive project management and implementation to increase overall effectiveness across the organization.

  • Must be able to use tact, savvy, and discretion in balancing the interests of multiple constituents and stakeholders.
