Under supervision of the SVP – Product Development & Technology, the Colleague Lead & System Administrator (Higher Ed ERP system) is responsible for the continual execution of Colleague configuration, system changes and enhancements; in coordination with users, management and vendors. Will identify sensible solutions to business problems using Ellucian Colleague and integrated technologies related to Colleague.

  • Primary system administrator and application configuration expert for Colleague. Installing system patches, releases and upgrades while keeping user downtime to a minimum. Creating clone environments for Test and QA as needed. Builds and maintain user roles, security profiles, access rights and hierarchy structure.

  • Participates in continuous process improvement efforts related to the design and programming of functionality within Colleague.

  • Works with West’s Operations team in analyzing current business processes and provide improvement recommendations. Translating end-user requirements into an easy-to-navigate front end processes.

  • Integrates Colleague with SalesForce, Campus Cruiser and other applications and data-driven processes.

  • Stays informed on SIS and Colleague best practices and industry/functionality trends by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.

  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents complex operating software applications.

  • Assists in the development, testing, training, support and launch plans to deliver a quality product, with user adoption and acceptance.

  • Supports both project and on-going support/maintenance activities related to Colleague and associated application systems.



Basic Requirements:

  • College degree or 4 years combination of formal education and experience; or equivalent prior work experience.

  • A minimum of 2 years of Colleague administrative or developer experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of the following Ellucian products:

  • Colleague hosted in a Windows SQL environment (including SA Valet, Colleague Studio, and LPR)

  • WebAdvisor

  • UI 4.x

  • Colleague Student

  • Colleague Financial Aid

  • Colleague Accounts Receivable

  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008, SQL Queries.

  • Demonstrated success in Colleague process improvement, configurations and implementations.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with the ability to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously.

  • Effective communication (verbal & written), listening and presentation skills.

  • Analytical, problem solving ability.

  • Ability to efficiently work both individually and as a team member.

  • Productive team player who is comfortable working with cross-functional teams with a wide range of personalities.

  • Demonstrates business aptitude in decision making situations, focusing on the best business decision.
