The Director of Alumni Engagement provides innovative leadership, program development and administration of the alumni engagement component of the Phoenix For Life program. The mission of the Career Services and Alumni Engagement department is to provide career growth partnership, connections and personal growth benefits to students and alumni for life.


Strategic Leadership :

  • Provide input into strategic planning for the alumni engagement function.

  • Create and implement a comprehensive process to align, support and communicate with alumni chapters across the country.

  • Select, train, and manage a team of high-performing, highly engaged alumni engagement professionals

  • Work with Academic and Operations leaders to integrate alumni engagement and interaction throughout the student experience.

  • Partner with Ground campus leadership to support and implement alumni engagement initiatives.

  • Work with Marketing department leadership to support overall goals and objectives, and bring success to all divisions of the Marketing team.

  • Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records; capture contact, biographical, career information and stories of alumni.

  • Facilitate reporting and assessment of alumni engagement processes.

  • Select, implement and manage alumni engagement technology solutions, social media and websites.

  • Manage budget of alumni engagement function.

Alumni Engagement Process:

  • Planning and implementation of programs and projects that strategically engage alumni and provide tangible benefits to alumni and current students.

  • Manage and support alumni chapter events, structure and processes.

  • Design, implement and manage alumni engagement programming and events both virtually and in-person.

  • Oversee the University’s Homecoming celebrations in collaboration with the University Events team.

  • Oversee the New Alumni transition process, including Commencement receptions, communications, and occupation-specific programming.

  • Manage alumni “Give Back” program, including mentoring, community service volunteering, speakers bureau, and similar programs.

  • Collaborate with Colleges to offer lifelong learning opportunities that promote career growth.

  • Manage alumni CRM processes to coordinate alumni interaction throughout the university.

  • Manage alumni network connections, both globally and in smaller communities, through online and in-person infrastructure.

  • Coordinate with career development and employer relations leadership to prepare and connect graduates with employers and career opportunities through alumni engagement, mentoring and programming.

  • Identify and distribute select alumni lists for various University initiatives.


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline plus a minimum of four years of experience in alumni relations with demonstrated accomplishment in fostering productive relationships with volunteers and developing volunteer leadership.

  • Master’s degree preferred.
