Overview

The Manager of Career Development provides content thought partnership, program development and administration of the career development component of the Phoenix For Life program. The mission of the Career Services and Alumni Engagement department is to provide career growth partnership, connections and personal growth benefits to students and alumni for life.

Responsibilities

Leadership :

  • Create, implement and manage a comprehensive career development process for the students and alumni of the university that is specific to occupation and experience level, and extends through life.

  • Coordinate with the career coaching team to implement the career development language, steps and processes through a unified and collaborative method.

  • Facilitate reporting and assessment of career development processes and programming.

  • Coordinate with alumni and employer relations leadership to prepare and connect graduates with employers and career opportunities.

  • Work with Marketing department leadership to support overall goals and objectives, and bring success to all divisions of the Marketing team.

  • Select and integrate career development solutions into technology and websites.

Career Development Process:

  • Provide innovative, current career services to students and alumni in various phases of career development to identify the next career step, become qualified for it, and ultimately be hired.

  • Identify and implement best-in-class career development processes, tools, and social media engagement to deliver career development program.

  • Work with academic and operations leaders to train and integrate career development processes throughout the student experience.

  • Train ground campus staff to deliver programming and coaching.

  • Work with ground campuses to offer career development events.

  • Collaborate with alumni engagement function to infuse alumni into career services programming.

  • Collaborate with employer relations function to infuse employers into career services programming.

  • Create and implement online webinars and workshops that support the career development process.

  • Work with Academics to infuse career development concepts into the academic curriculum.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in higher education or related field with experience in career development and career counseling.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong skills in organization and communication.

  • Robust knowledge of career development.

  • Show an innovative and current knowledge of career development and job search trends.

  • Ability to obtain confidence and support of key university leaders.
